As followers of my Pauseworks Studio Blog, you may have noticed that things have been pretty \u2018quiet on the western front\u2019 in recent months.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Back in December of 2023, my husband received a serious health diagnosis. In March of 2024, he started treatment. When something like this happens, it turns your world upside down. That\u2019s certainly been the case for us.<\/p>\n

Suddenly, so many things that seem so important in \u2018normal times\u2019 (travel, ambition, projects, art) fade into the background. What matters more than anything else is health and relationship. That\u2019s been our focus for well over a year and continues to guide our days.<\/p>\n

Treatments continue \u2013 and our days roll along. We try to be as present and loving as possible – embracing each moment without fretting too anxiously about the future.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I have continued to make art when I have the energy for it. Since September, I\u2019ve painted as per usual on Mondays with my Artists\u2019 Workshop group.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve been an awesome support to me. And engaging in creating art has been a welcome distraction from everyday challenges at home.<\/p>\n

I write this now to explain the absence of messages here on this website. It\u2019s not that I haven\u2019t had things to say or share about the art I have been creating, it\u2019s that other priorities for using my time have stepped to the forefront.<\/p>\n

This is also to let you know you can expect a brief flurry of messages this month in the lead up to our annual Artists\u2019 Workshop Spring Show & Sale the last weekend in April. More on that in future messages.<\/p>\n
