If you’ve been following my posts on social media (Facebook and Instagram), you may have caught one of more of the ten brief videos vignettes in which I shared some of the experiences and inspirations that gave rise to the ‘Care For A Cuppa’ exhibition and the Café Series in general.
The series touched on all of these themes:
- hospitality,
- contribution,
- community,
- relationship,
- connection,
- contemplation,
- beauty, and
- creativity.
The entire series of vignettes has now been combined into one video shown here interspersed with paintings from the show. If you are so inclined, I invite you to grab a cuppa your favorite beverage, press play, and reflect on your own life experiences connecting with self and others over a mug of coffee or a cup of tea.
If you haven’t yet seen the ‘Care For A Cuppa’ exhibition which has been featured through the fall at City Perks Coffeehouse in Saskatoon, this link will allow you to browse the individual works virtually and enjoy a virtual video tour of the show online at the Pauseworks Studio website.
BTW, the show run was extended two weeks until December 15th at 801 7th Ave N.

The ‘Care For A Cuppa’ Show & Sale is now halfway through its run at City Perks Coffeehouse here in Saskatoon (801 7th Ave N). The exhibition continues until the end of November.
Several of you who are ‘from away’, or who may not be feeling that comfortable dropping in to a coffee house these days, have asked if it would be possible for me to share the show virtually so you can enjoy it, too. The answer to that questions is yes. I’m delighted to do just that.
Today I’ve uploaded the video you see here. This video walk-through of the show is just under two minutes in length and lets you see how the paintings are grouped and presented.
A couple of weeks ago I uploaded a virtual gallery of the 22 paintings with a description of the backstory for each piece along with size and pricing information. This link will allow you to browse the gallery.
I’d love to hear your reactions to the collection.
Do keep in mind that these pieces are available for purchase (at least those not yet claimed). Might be an idea to drop a hint about your favorite to someone who is thinking of a Christmas gift for you!
To inquire about purchase, simply email me at pat@patkatzart.com or text me at 306-221-8663.
Now, grab your own cuppa, sit back, and enjoy the show.

I’m excited that three of my paintings are on display as part of the Member’s Show and Sale at the Humboldt Art Gallery in Humboldt, Saskatchewan – just 150 kilometers east of Saskatoon.
The show has been running throughout October and continues until November 6th.
The gallery is open from Tuesday through Saturday between the hours of 1:00 and 5:00 pm. It’s a beautiful gallery space located right on Main Street. Well worth a visit!
The Gallery has generously created a series of videos to profile each of the participating artists.

Last summer, I was fortunate enough to have a video crew offer to interview me about my experiences in the world of art.
This is the final edit of the footage taken on that warm sunny July day in our backyard garden.
I hope you enjoy this conversation about the place of art in my world, and that this prompts you to give a thought to the place of art in your world, too.
Thanks a million to videographer, Justin Upshaw, and interviewer, Adam Leclaire, for their kindness and generosity.
Colour For A Cause

I just finished adding some watercolor to a patch of crocuses, and I did it for a cause! It’s part of a project to benefit Creative Kids Saskatchewan titled Colour For A Cause.
Jason Sylvestre (illustrator of the very popular You Might Be From Saskatchewan If book) has published a 70 page colouring book of scenes from Saskatchewan.
Jason and his publisher, MacIntyre Purcell, are partnering to use the coloring books to raise money for Creative Kids Saskatchewan. Creative Kids is a charitable giving program that helps enable low-income children and youth to participate in arts and culture activities.
Saskatchewan artists, athletes, media and business personalities have been provided with advance copies of the books and been asked to sign and color one page in their books.
All of these books will be offered for purchase in a televised auction in June with 100% of the proceeds going to Creative Kids Saskatchewan. In addition, 10% of all general sales will also go to Creative Kids.
For more information on the fundraiser, contact Christie McCullock at Creative Kids Saskatchewan.
To connect with Jason, see his Facebook page.
To learn more about the Colour Saskatchewan book, see this page at MacIntyre Purcell Publishing.
I understand the books are already stocked on the shelves of many Saskatchewan bookstores.

Sometimes you need a little extra help to pull you along to the end of a project. I’m calling on the muses in the form of other artists’ works to put the finishing touches on my new art website: www.patkatzart.com. Wish me luck.
