Coming Soon – Artists’ Workshop 2023 Spring Show & Sale

In just two weeks, our Artists’ Workshop group will throw open the doors and welcome you to our Spring Show & Sale.

This is your personal invitation to join us to enjoy all of the brand-new original works we’ve been creating.

The event will be held at Grace Westminster Church (505 10^th St E in Saskatoon) on Friday, April 21 (5-8), Saturday, April 22 (10-4) and Sunday, April 23 (12-4).

‘Viewpoints’ is the theme of this year’s show. We celebrate the many different paths that have led us to our work, the variations in what inspires each of us, and the individual ways that viewers and collectors experience what we create.

Unique to the 2023 show will be a set of works expressing our nine different interpretations of the color palette featured in our show logo. 

Artists’ Workshop Members

If you’ve joined us in the past, you’ll know that members of our group (Celeste Dumonceaux Delahey, Jean Dudley, Kathryn Green, Monika Kinner, Val Miles, Paige Mortenson, Sharron Schoenfeld, Leslie Stadnichuk, and me) create in a variety of media: oil, watercolor, mixed media, collage, ink and watercolor, pastels, textile art, and watercolor batik.

Personally, I’ve been doing a lot of experimenting and my work reflects that. I continue to paint in watercolor – with and without ink – on paper and canvas.

I’ll be presenting work under four different themes: Bold Florals, Fall Colors, Trees, and Travels.

Half of my works are presented in the traditional way – matted, and framed under glass.

Thirteen of my pieces painted on watercolor paper are mounted on gallery cradle board with a varnish and wax finish – no glass required.

My contribution to the Viewpoints interpretation takes the form of nine 8×8” color blocks on canvas each accented with a strip of copper foil.

You can mix and match them for wall display or set them on shelves and tables.

To whet your appetite, between now and showtime, every few days I’ll be posting a few samples of my recent works from each of the five themes here on the blog. So stay tuned for those!
