As 2021 rolls to a close, it’s oh so clear that the challenges of the Covid 19 Pandemic continue to bring major disruptions to work, family and life as we knew it.
In the midst of the madness, I want to mark this moment by expressing my gratitude to all who have been following and supporting my adventures in art. In a world gone sideways, your words of encouragement have meant so much to me.
I hope that the art I have created and shared in recent months has helped you find distraction, diversion, connection, and perhaps even a wee bit of joy!
As I look back from this vantage point, I see how engaging in art played a key role in my own health and wellbeing through this time.
Although I could no longer travel the world at will to sketch on street corners in exotic locations, I could always head to my studio and play with my brushes and my paints.
Although our Artists’ Workshop Spring Show was cancelled, I was still able to share my work online and in two live solo exhibitions. We weren’t able to hold live receptions for those events, but that encouraged me to find other ways to connect people with the work.
While I couldn’t take part in live workshops with other artists to improve my skills, many artists embraced online opportunities and shared their instruction through the virtual world. I took advantage of many of those offerings.
I also ended up delivering virtual Sketching With Ink & Watercolor classes myself – and grew my own presentation skills in the process.
It’s impossible to predict how 2022 will unfold. But I do know that I intend to keep on making make art whenever and wherever I can. I have a few new ideas brewing, and I look forward to sharing them with you all in the months ahead.
Wishing you the very best of the season and continued good health, Pat

If you’ve been following my posts on social media (Facebook and Instagram), you may have caught one of more of the ten brief videos vignettes in which I shared some of the experiences and inspirations that gave rise to the ‘Care For A Cuppa’ exhibition and the Café Series in general.
The series touched on all of these themes:
- hospitality,
- contribution,
- community,
- relationship,
- connection,
- contemplation,
- beauty, and
- creativity.
The entire series of vignettes has now been combined into one video shown here interspersed with paintings from the show. If you are so inclined, I invite you to grab a cuppa your favorite beverage, press play, and reflect on your own life experiences connecting with self and others over a mug of coffee or a cup of tea.
If you haven’t yet seen the ‘Care For A Cuppa’ exhibition which has been featured through the fall at City Perks Coffeehouse in Saskatoon, this link will allow you to browse the individual works virtually and enjoy a virtual video tour of the show online at the Pauseworks Studio website.
BTW, the show run was extended two weeks until December 15th at 801 7th Ave N.

The ‘Care For A Cuppa’ Show & Sale is now halfway through its run at City Perks Coffeehouse here in Saskatoon (801 7th Ave N). The exhibition continues until the end of November.
Several of you who are ‘from away’, or who may not be feeling that comfortable dropping in to a coffee house these days, have asked if it would be possible for me to share the show virtually so you can enjoy it, too. The answer to that questions is yes. I’m delighted to do just that.
Today I’ve uploaded the video you see here. This video walk-through of the show is just under two minutes in length and lets you see how the paintings are grouped and presented.
A couple of weeks ago I uploaded a virtual gallery of the 22 paintings with a description of the backstory for each piece along with size and pricing information. This link will allow you to browse the gallery.
I’d love to hear your reactions to the collection.
Do keep in mind that these pieces are available for purchase (at least those not yet claimed). Might be an idea to drop a hint about your favorite to someone who is thinking of a Christmas gift for you!
To inquire about purchase, simply email me at pat@patkatzart.com or text me at 306-221-8663.
Now, grab your own cuppa, sit back, and enjoy the show.

For the second year in a row, I’m excited that three of my paintings are on display as part of the Member’s Show and Sale at the Humboldt Art Gallery in Humboldt, Saskatchewan – just 150 kilometers east of Saskatoon.
My pieces have a definite country theme and feel to them – abandoned buildings and old trucks.
