Special Bonus Offer – Celebrating Sketches of Saskatoon 3rd Printing

I’ve recently taken possession of the third printing of my book, Sketches of Saskatoon. Copies of SOS continue to be very popular as gifts for travelers, family and business visitors, colleagues, clients, as well as lovers of art and this city of Saskatoon.

To celebrate the third printing, this special offer is available from now until the end of 2017. With each bundle of 10 or more copies that is ordered from my online shop, I will also include a special bonus gift of an original painting with a Saskatoon theme or image.

Each original will be 5×7, mounted on a 6×8 mat board (as shown here) and wrapped in a cello pack ready for presentation and gifting – or to keep and enjoy yourself.

The image shown on the right (that of a Saskatoon classic – the Delta Bessborough) is the gift that will accompany the very first ten-pack purchased.

The price of a bundle of 10 books is already discounted by 10%. The bonus painting is in addition to that discount. Deeper discounts are available on larger quantities.

To take advantage of this special offer, go directly to this link for complete pricing details and to place your order.

SOS Now Available At SoulPaper

Soul Paper logoSoulPaper, the sweetest, most browsable shop on 20th Street in Saskatoon bills itself as a premier paperie and creative hub. And it is all that, and more.

Thanks so much to proprietor, Susan Gallagher, for including Sketches of Saskatoon for sale amongst the many gifts and books carried in the shop. Since the first copies first went on display in May, Susan has called twice to have me replenish their stock. It seems SoulPaper clientele are great fans of Sketches of Saskatoon.

The only ‘problem’ is that each time I drop more books at the shop, I always take a look around at what’s on offer. And, I always find a thing or two I just have to purchase before I leave. 🙂

If you haven’t yet visited SoulPaper, be sure to drop in at 118-20th Street West. You’ll be delighted you did!

Yet another way for this great ‘tuck it under your arm and give it away’ ambassador for our fine city to make its way around the world!

SAsk Made Lawson SOS-wThanks to Amanda Wilkins and the fine folks at SaskMade Marketplace for featuring Sketches of Saskatoon in their pop up shop at Lawson Heights Mall during the pre-Christmas shopping season.

Sask Made Marketplace does such a great job of profiling and promoting Saskatchewan ‘born and raised’ products – including books and works of art.

SOS Joins Book Club At Saskatoon Public Library

Public Library-wMark your calendars for 7:00 pm on the evening of Thursday, December 11. Come on down and join me at the Frances Morrison Library for some Sketches of Saskatoon fun.

Leah Bruce of the Saskatoon Public Library will be hosting the Thursday evening Book Club gathering in the Gallery on the second floor.

I’ll be sharing some background info on SOS and how it came to be, answering your questions, and joining you in conversation about how we use images to convey a sense of home.

The event is open to all. No advance registration is necessary. Hot coffee will be provided on what might be a chilly winter’s evening.

The library will have several of their loan copies of SOS on hand. I’ll also bring a few copies of the book for sale that evening. They make great seasonal gifts – as do the prints of images from the book. I’ll have a few prints available for purchase as well.

Appearing here is the full SPL promo info for the event. Looking forward to seeing you there.

SOS Stepping Out In Style

Sketches of Sbow tie orange-waskatoon – all dressed up in its finest – put in an appearance at last weekend’s Mayor’s Cultural Gala.

The Gala is the premiere fund-raising event in support the fine work of the Saskatoon Community Foundation.

Since its inception eight years ago, the event has raised over $2.5 million and provided funds to support over 150 charity grants annually.

This year’s event had a ‘Home Grown’ theme – featuring Saskatoon based talent.

Attendees at the gala were gifted with their very own copies of Sketches of Saskatoon. What could be more home grown that a collection of sketches of this beautiful city created by a fellow Saskatonian?

I am delighted to be able to put SOS to work in the service of supporting charities who do such great work to keep Saskatoon shining.

More Places To Pick Up Your Copies of SOS

Berry Barn-wThanks so much to Natalie Erlandson, Manager of the Saskatoon Berry Barn on Valley Road, for stocking copies of Sketches of Saskatoon in the gift shop for the summer.

The Berry Barn is a very popular place for the locals to take guests and visitors for a taste of the country that’s close to the city. I’m a big fan of their Borscht and of course their Saskatoon Berry Pie. Ask for yours with an ice cold scoop of ice cream.

hues_logo-wThanks, also, to Paul Trottier owner of Hues Art Supply at 1818 Lorne Avenue here in Saskatoon for making copies of Sketches of Saskatoon available to his customers and clients. Hues is the ‘new kid on the block’ when it comes to art supply shops in the city, and is already very popular with Saskatoon artists.

In addition to art supplies, Paul’s shop serves as a gallery for the work of local artists and is fast becoming a hot-spot for how-to art workshops and classes. Paul, himself, is a member of the renowned Saskatchewan based artist’s group,  Men Who Paint.
